Pregnancy Massage or Prenatal Massage is a therapeutic massage in pregnancy.

Massage during pregnancy is either pre-natal (during pregnancy) or postnatal (after pregnancy) and each one of these have their respective benefits. It provides emotional and physical support and has been proven to improve overall maternal health and pregnancy outcome.

Regular prenatal massages may not only help you relax, but may also relieve insomnia, joint pain, neck and back pain, leg cramping, and also help reduce stress, decrease arm and leg swelling, and relieve muscle and joint pain.

This is particularly useful when other medicine or medical options are excluded.

It may be uncomfortable to lay down on a normal massage table so most of the places that provide pregnancy massage offer a specialist table and pad with hollowed-out areas and special pillows to accommodate your belly.

Pregnancy massage usually lasts an hour.
